Ok so I reinstalled XP clean on the origional C drive. I have vista ultimate on the d drive (same hd - just partitioned). But now when i turn on my computer it boots into XP everytime without even displaying the boot manager. What do I do to get vista bootable again? Here is my boot.ini file (im not a pro in this area lol)
[boot loader] timeout=20 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect cheers |

change timeout to -1 .that should give u the boot menu.
then u gotta add the vista line on the bottom. i dont remember exact line but its something like multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows Vista" Last edited by chuckwillis; 05-10-2008 at 12:07 AM. |
