Default anyone familiar with firestarter for linux

what does it mean when the icon my my taskbar tray turns red and has a z looking figure. Also under inbound serious, there is a number like 2. The icon goes from red, then back to blue, i really just dont understand how to use this program. Also, when i configure it, during the file sharing option, i pick a network device, then wheen i finish it says firewall couldnt be started, and that device isnt ready, but the firewall starts anyways. Im confused because the tray icon is read, but if i click it it turns blue and is active
