Default Question about a dell laptop

I have an Inspiron 1501 that has a problem. Wednesday night I was using it with no problems what so ever, Thursday morning it would not start up. In two days of fighting with it I got it to power all the way up one time; however when it came on, the track pad and the entire keyboard did not work. I have been told to reseat the memory, tried it no luck. Been told to unlpug the charger take out the battery and try to power it on as it may have been stuck in hibernate, no luch there either. Does anybody have any idea as to what might be going on here? If I left out any info you need to know let me know, no, no ssn or bank account numbers

Sounds like a serious power problem. Is it under warranty still?

If they gave you the option to renew your warranty I would do that asap. Other than that if you feel comfortable in your tech skills open it up and make sure all of the connectors are properly seated. The other thing you can do is take it to a computer repair store, they will charge you something like 25-50$ for a complete evaluation and estimate on the repair cost.
