Default Ubuntu reinstall questions.

So about 8 months ago I reinstalled everything, granted, I did it in the wrong order the first time. Windows vista, ubuntu, xp. After some working around I finally got the vista boot menu to work for all three, it wasnt fun and took a ton of work.

So I want to reinstall ubuntu (changing from 32 bit to 64 bit) and wondering, how is it gunna screw up my boot menu? I kinda want to stick with the vista boot menu, and not have 15 little ones. So how can I reinstall it, remove the grub boot menu, and use the vista boot menu?

Then my final question is, is there anyway inside XP (and vista) too see the ubuntu hard drive and all my files? I know in ubuntu I can see all my windows installs but not the other way around.

I've not personally done this with Vista, but I would imagine you would install Ubuntu normally and let GRUB take control of everything. After that, then go back and fix the Vista boot menu as you did in the first instance 8 months ago.

Ahhh. Well, no idea as to it's accuracy (I've never had to do this on Vista) but maybe give this a try: http://members.rushmore.com/~jsky/id38.html?
