Default router issue

well its weird i instales a router in a network followed all the instruccions but it doesnt work now it worked before but i reset the router and i formated my computer and now i cant get internet acces i can connect i can acces by connecting the modem to the computer but i cant get the notwork to work and i looked at the router´s troubleshooting (http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101667.asp)
and yes i got al right eccept this part:

5.-Configure your router with the username and password provided by your ISP and click Apply.

but i didnt get any password or a username from my ISP is DSL by the way and everithing is ok , the router says it have internet but neither of the compute is getting it so please if some one have something please let me know ill b cheking back offten thanks

If your DSL uses PPoE then yes, you do need a password for it and you will need to configure your PPoE password in the router.

You may have to call your ISP if it needs to be reset, or if you have a 2wire modem sometimes they put it on the bottom of the modem.
