8600 GTS (256mb) or 7800 GTX (256mb)?

pretend you playing games that have no dx10 such as FEAR, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., age of empires 3, Ever Quest 2, Titan Quest, Dark Messiah, Far Cry or overall Which will you have? 8600 GTS or 7800 GTX?

Depends on price, but I'd probably go for 8600 since -AFAIK- 8-series cards were a big improvement over 7-series, though 8600s were a disappointment, I've heard. My 8500GT Plays AoE3 just fine, everything looks sleek'n'sexy all the way with all setting maxed out, no stuttering or hiccups.

If the 7800gtx is significantly cheaper then that, otherwise the 8600gts. It's supposed to be around a 7900gs' performance, and if i remember right, the 7800gtx isn't far off the 79xx series. So they're close in performance, though I'd bet the 8600gts has faster RAM.
