What do you think would be faster? 2 Evga 8600GT in SLI or a single 9800GTX?

A single high-end card is always better than two crappier cards in SLI.

A single 9800GTX would be the better choice but the 8800GTS (512MB) performs almost the same for ~$75 less

I have a single 8600gt and love it but, the 9800 single would kill a 8600gt sli setup! I hate to say it but its true. New technology now days

i am not satisfied with my single 8600gt. I get like 20-50fps in counter-strike. I think my CPU is the reason why i get poor fps though. What fps do u get racer in what games, if you do play games.

When I had Intel Integrated X3000 chipset, I was only able to run America's Army v. 2.8.3.1 in normal/low settings with fps ranging from 20-40. And I'm really sure that America's Army requires a higher card then CounterStrike.
