Default Handbrake Problems on Macbook

I have a macbook 2.16ghz 1gb and i have tried many times to get handbreak to work, handbrake installs fine just that i try to open it and it just bounces on the dock and then closes, nothing say it has closed unexpitedly or anything. Would really like anyones help b/c my macbook is my only dvd burner and i have lots of movies to burn.

If no one has an answer to fix what other programs would do the same thing as handbrake.

Thanks for the help

Open up the console.app under /Applications/utilities and then look at the system.log file and copy/paste any error messages that pertain to handbrake.
