Default SATA hard drive do I need sata cd drive?

What my title says I am new to building and would like to clear this up!

No, you can use your SATA hard drive with either a SATA or IDE CD Drive.

Yep, what he said, it doesn't matter what they are, I would recommend a sata DVD drive simply because it makes cable management easier.

im looking forward to trying a sata disc drive. making OS installs faster sounds very tempting
