Default Video Capture/Video Editing

Ok, so jsut 5 mina go i got this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100120
I bought it because we have alot of those hi8 tapes we need to put in digital format as to edit/burn to DVDs. THESE ARE ALL HOME MOVIES. Just would like to clear that up.

OK, i have Nero from my CDDVD drive purchase and i am still yet to install it. When i got my card, it comes with some pvr software which i heard sucks egg yolks. Will nero get the job done?

Also, Im going to need a video editer, with the cut/pasting feature to organize everything. Thnx guys.

which PVR would u recommend and which Video editor would u recommend.

Free is preferable, otherwise i can always go retail.

THNX
