Default Hard Drive won't Format???

Hi,
I have laptop running Vista, with one 250Gb HDD. The HDD is partitioned to 120Gb NTFS with Vista on it, as C drive. The other is partioned as a blank data partion at 120Gb NTFS, as D drive.
I have now shrunk the data partition to 60Gb using Vista's Disk Management.
However Vista won't let me now format the unallocated 60Gb.

Any ideas why???

Thanks,
Gareth

Default

You need to create a new partition in the unallocated area. This can all be done in the Disk Management thingee...
