Exclamation possible 'Shock' to hardware

i have a Dell Dimension 5000 desktop, and couple of weeks ago i was hammering a nail into my desk becasuse the keyboard tray kept falling down, (mentioning this as its seems too much to be a coincidence) and the computer just switched itself off,

when i tried to start it up it kept beeping and never getting past the loading screen and couldn't get into setup or boot options, after a lot of tries it loaded up, so i tried to just keep it turned on untill i found an answer but i have had to restart a couple of times, get the same thing, after a lot of reboots it finally loaded windows,

is there any way to find out if anythings damaged and is it fixable?
