Use Media Keys with iTunes minimised

i have a DELL keyboard which came with the PC, it has a play/pause skip, stop media buttons, these work when im in iTunes but when i minimise the program to system tray they do not work, (i have searched the forum and not found enough info to help) cant find anything in iTunes settings so how can i get them to work?

maybe because they have been configured with WMP11 or 9.... check that itunes is the default player.....

and drivers are installed for the keyboard.
