Default Asus P5K-... problems

Got P5K-E with CPU Q9300. This one replaces my 8 years "old" pentium 2000MHz Intel.

- Just when I wanted to connect my Mouse-Pro (MS) I figured out NO MOUSE CONNECTION (serial port).

- Just when I wanted to connect my Epson Photo Ink Printer I figured out NO PRINTER CONNECTION (parallel port).

So I got PSI card (MOS chip): 1-parallel and 2-serial ports. But this drive me crazy. In AutoCAD and Catia5 (engineering programs), and all other win prograpms, the cursor movement is so bad (drag and jerks) compared with my old computer that has both ports on motherboard and cursor movement is so smooth.

The second issue is runing the computer in MS-DOS 6.2 (not Windows) for some reasons. However I cannot get mouse to work in, say, AutoCAD or 3D-Studio, even the program from CD (came with MOS card) say ports are detected.

Can anyone point to some good solution for my problems.

Thanks for your time.
Daniel
