USB Flash Drive Not Showing Up

Hoping someone can help me with this.

I have a Sandisk Cruzer mini 1 GB flash drive that I popped into my laptop running Windows XP. The little hardware installer icon popped up and said that the correct driver had been updated and everything was fine.

However, the drive does not show up on my computer anywhere. I went to the device manager and it was there so I had it update the driver again. It said the drive was working properly and did not need a different driver.

I tried the roll back option and that didn't do anything.

How can I get my flash drive to show up somewhere where I can access it?

does it have U3 smart software?

bottom right hand corner of screen - U3 symbol might be there.... click on that..
