I am looking for a way to get solid audio out of my laptop. I am the "computer guru" at my church and we are looking to make cd music, and videos sound better on electric guitar, microphone etc sytstem. Since we have been using my laptop I was looking for a pcmcia card but didn't find much. I also found this

Really nice PCMCIA sound cards are pretty scarce today. Most companies tend to go with the USB route. People probably find it easier to use and it's compatible with most any machine; laptop or desktop...
The question is what do you have available and what's your budget? Honestly, if you simply used something that went from the headphone out of your mixer to the line-in of your laptop, you'd probably get fair audio. I doubt it'd be that much worse than a device such as you posted as both will still be analog coming in. Perhaps if you simply found a nice USB sound card for your laptop, that'd be a good budget solution
