Default Upgrading Laptop Wireless Mini-Pci

Hello. Hopefully this is the correct place to post this. I have a Gateway MT3707 with a Realtek 8185L wireless card in it. It's actually fairly weak compared to a cheap wireless pci card that I use to slip into the side of my old laptop (card is now broken). I can sit within 10 feet of a router and have a 3/5 to 4/5 signal. My friends old Dell could be over twice that distance away and have a 5/5 signal.

Would this make a difference?

If not, how about this one?

I'm not sure if they are both compatible with Vista, though. What do you guys think?

look for one with a good review, when my internals break I just use an external, or call in the warranty, so I dunno much about buying a new internal one.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate your help. This realtek card won't even connect to my own home network. It seems like half the time it won't connect to other networks either. I've tried a new driver. There is an Atheros card that seems to be ok. I think I'll check it out more too. I'm going to change it, even if the next one isn't any more powerful.
