Default processor wont go in

i have a q6700 im trying to put into a 680i board (striker extreme)

is something suppose to snap in? from what im seeing its spose to just lay in there, then you close the cap and lock it down

i lay it in there (gold arrow in the correct spot) and the cap doesnt come close to closing, and i dont want to force it down...any idea's?

unlike what some people think, it does take a bit of force to get that little lever to close the lid. a pound to three pounds should do it. and the lids flex sometimes when you close them, so thats natural.

There should be no force whatsoever when you insert the CPU (LGA775), however when you push the lever down, it does require a fair amount of force.

you cant really use that picture, as its for an AMD, and there is no lid and the lever serves a different purpose...

ok i have one more question before i put the pressure to the lever and lock it down, it looks like 3 of the pins on the motherboard have moved (this is a new build (my first) and i dont know if i shold go ahead and take everything back off and send it back or if it shold be fine? it was an "open box" deal at newegg, and it has looked like this sense i took the plastic cap off the lid of the CPU bay
