Wink What do you think of "EMO"?

Title says it all, just looking to see what peoples thoughts are on the style and everything.

people should wear what they wanna wear (within reason). i have to argue, however, that some people do actually care, and sometimes wont take you seriously because of what youre wearing.

Hmmm, My sis is going through the whole thing now...

Can't say I'm that impressed, but, Like Jim said, people wear what they want.

Each to their own I say.
I don't know any emo's and to be honest I dont think much of them, I think they try to hard to conform and are not really themselves or individuals.
And I hate their music.
I prefer hippies (the non drug taking types).... and being a child of the 60's I prefer the music from back then as well.

I agree but why would they want to wear that kind of stuff? What makes it look so appealing to them?

At my school, people that are emo try to hide it and say that they're "punk" and not "emo".

I agree with Ian about how most emos are not themselves.

i like wearing black but i'm not emo. i wear plain black tees, the one's bouncer's wear at clubs. lol.

emo fashion usually have those weird designs with roses and croses and sorry no offence, look queer to me. i hate the music they produce, it's whiny which again no offence, sounds queer. emo fashion and the music itself is directed to 12 yr old tweens who try to be cool.

again, just my two cents. no flaming me alright?

listen to metal instead kiddos.

They try too hard to be 'individual', When in fact, they all look the same. Hair over the eye, Skinny Jeans, and they all listen to the same, boring music.

I don't see what the obession is, I rekon when the next big 'social' thing happens, All the Emos will turn to that, probably wearing like Loin Clothes, or something.

I don't know about other countries, but in the UK, people that follow the current 'hip' trend are called Scene Kids.

Like Ian said, "Hippies" are so much cooler! Flares, FTW!

You missed the point! It's trute that emo's wear different stuff and all wear black...but emo means emotional, and i just can't stand them because they are depressive. Depression is what makes an emo, not what they wear.
I think that for their own good and for all other people's good around them they should stop being what they are and be more open to society.
