Question Slideshow software

I recently just had my first child, a new baby boy and the wife has been going picture crazy....my question is she is wanting a slideshow made of these pictures, where they change every 10 seconds or so that can be played in a computer or dvd player with music playing in the background so she can send it to her mother....what would you folks suggest as far as type to go with and whatnot. Please remember, I am not completely computer savy and I want to try and keep it somewhat on the cheaper side of the software rainbow. Thanks in advance,
Jason

Microsoft PowerPoint works great if you can break into its guts and figure out how it all works. I use PowerPoint for all my slideshows.

On the other hand, Slideshow Plus is a good program for slideshows that I've heard is user friendly.

Exclamation problem

dvd photo slideshow professional is what I have been trying to use...but it seems everytime it works fine on the computer but it will not just automatically play it...even with autoplay turned on. On the other hand I put it in a dvd player and it just says disc is corrupt...?????
