Exclamation Help! Computer won't boot up

Hi there
A couple of days ago my computer just conked out on me! It just turned itself off. Now it won't turn on at all. I tried several times, but each time, windows starts loading, then, a screen comes up with four options for me to start, such as 'start in safe mode' etc. I have tried starting up with these four options, and none of them worked. Each time the blue screen flashed up for about half a second before the computer went off again.
Any ideas what could be causing this problem? Any ideas if it could be fixed? and if so how?
I was wondering if it is a hard drive problem. Does it sound like this?
Is it possible to swap the back up harddrive with the main harddrive, so that the backup can run as the main hardrive and would this fix the problem? If so how do u do this?

Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

its a BSOD or "blue screen of death"

its nothing to really worry about. but it might be a faulty component.

did you make any changes in windows when this started happening?

Hi there, does anyone know how to swap harddrives over? i suspect there is a problem with the hard drive, as the light does not come on and it makes no noise. I have a slave hard drive, so how do i swap the jumpers over so that the slave is now the main hard drive, and run the main hard drive as the slave hard drive?

Take out one stick of RAM at a time. I doubt it is the HDD. If you're loading SOMETHING off of it, that usually means it works.
