RSS Reader

I have just started designing web sites, but I've known a decent amount coding for a while, and have recently learned a lot. I am currently trying to design a homepage for myself. On it, I want to include some RSS feeds. But I want them custom to my site, with the fonts, colors, design, etc. of the rest of my homepage. I stumbled upon something where i could choose from a couple presets and it would give me the code for it, but they didn't come close to meeting my needs. Is there a way to do this? And if so, how? Thanks!
