Well, you can buy one, but it depends where you buy it from. I've seen them go from 4 bucks a month to 60. If you want a free website you can just use HostSnake, but you won't get a www.yourwebsite.com url with them.

yeah i know there are places i can go to get the domain name but i was wondering if it is possible to just register it to my own server ? with out paying one of those sites ?

yeah i know what you mean, i once asked this question. someone explained it to me and it made sense. but i dont remember now haha

I think it was on another forum that I told you.

Basically you can't, you have to be an ISP to be able to register domain names yourself. So whatever happens, you'll have to pay for a URL. Now as far as the hosting of your files, you either have your own server (you'll only have to direct the url to your server) or you rent one.

I'll explain more when I get back from school.

don't worry about it any reply is better than none
i know somebody who has a sever running 24hrs a day so i will ask then if i would be able to host it on there sever when its done but if not i will just use one of these sites

anybody have and accounts of witch one would be best ?
or had any bad experiences ?
