I'm trying to find out about computer hardware and software for communications purposes. Also whether I can use the phones lines or
the cable connection to make phone calls from my computer to a telephone. I want to test out a business concept using my pc then jump to an industrial grade system, if I have to. My business concept uses a server that faces the customer for purchasing my service and inputing text data. This data will be uploaded to my communications equipment, which I want to be a pc, to start with. The pc will convert the text to voice and make a phone call and the synthesized voice will be the voice the user hears on the phone. So I've been trying to find out if I can run 24 modems, to make 24 simultaneous phone calls, or more, with one computer? What software would I need to create a program to upload and store the website input, automatically? What software would I need to make the phone calls, and recognize the difference between a person and an answering machine? What industrial computers do data centers use for this kind of system? Can I use my cable internet connection to make multiple simultaneous phone calls out, with my computer? This might not be the right place to ask these questions. If not, please tell me where to find one that is. Mike |
