Default sata

Hello Im new here. i have a couple of pcs that like to give me trouble from time to time.

Heres one. Im trying to load windows xp onto a new sata drive. i have 1gb of memory. windows wont load. do i need a driver for windows to recognise a sata hardrive?

no you dont, windows shouldnt care if its IDE or a SATA drive.

I think it may need a raid driver. any other ideas?

If you have RAID setup, then yes you most likely will need a RAID driver. However if you are just using a SATA drive thats not in a RAID array, then you shouldn't need to install a SATA driver, however sometimes you do need it.

Now when you say Windows doesn't load, does the install say there were no discs found, or what?
