Default Why is my hd ticking?

I know that a ticking hd cannot be good... And it really just started this morning. I don't really have any problem with it, still works normally, just the ticking noise that I can hear from across the room.

Ticking is the #1 sign that your HDD is failing. While there's no set-in-stone 'once a HDD starts making noise, it has this much life left' time-frame, it would be *highly* recommended to back up all your important files now and replace the Drive.

Sometimes scientists make things alot harder than they need to. All they've gotta do is put a big spring on the ground where they think it's gonna land, or send a mission to the moon to erect a sign that says "Welcome to Earth".

Well maybe it's time for an upgrade. I've also noticed over the past few weeks my computer will kind of rev up, spinning everything really fast and loud for about 30 seconds.
