Default Quality of Blue Ray Player

How is the quality on computer blue-ray players?

Will there be a difference when playing BD from my computer dekstop onto my 52" screen than with a standalone player? My video card has HDMI out so no problem there. My computer is also extremely fast, so there would be no lagging.

Oh 1 more thing - how is regular dvd quality output on a 52"? Are there good programs that UPSCALE from computer DVD players or do the DVD players themselves do the upscaling?

Sorry for the double post
