Default CompUSA Is back

I have herd on compusa's website that they are reopening there stores. I am very happy. does anyone know if they will open any stores in NY state? What are your thoughts on it? Do you like compusa? Are you happy that they are reopening? Post your comments here!

the one near me in florida never even closed, it was down for 2 days while they restocked the shelves. the customer service is AWFUL there

They're not opening all the stores. The one near me has already been rented out to a new tenant, a restaurant, I believe.

I liked CompUSA. They have the most computer parts out of all the other stores around me (staples, radioshack, circuitcity, bestbuy). It's pretty convenient when you need something cheap and don't feel like waiting for newegg to ship it to you.

Exactly! Say I needed a fan, or some thermal paste, or an IDE cable. CompUSA was a 15 minute drive from my house and I'd have exactly what I needed. Now, anything small is a big deal to get, and shipping costs for something little make even motherboard screws relatively expensive.

Fry's is better though, they just need more locations.

Agreed. I have two in my area (Sacramento and Roseville, CA). They're the best brick and mortar computer store I've been to.
