Max RAM question.

The max RAM capacity of my computer is 1gb..Is there anyway to increase the amount it can hold? I'm on XP.

Hey,

Could you supply us with what motherboard you have got? Maybe even what type of RAM?

It's an intel 845g and it has a stick of pc2300 512 ram that it came with, and a 256mb k-byte I bought.

Also something strange.. HP.com says my computer uses PC2100/1600 RAM..yet I'm using PC2300 in one slot and pc2700 in another. Also hp.com and crucial.com say 1gig is my max, with 512mb max in each slot..Yet http://www.memory-up.com/Memory_Find...14226&system=1 This site says I can put a max of 1gig per slot for a total of 2 gigs. Does anyone have any idea why? O_o

A side note..another strange thing, hp.com lists my computer as having x1 512 ram stick at pc2100..but mine came with a pc2300, not 2100.
