Default Booting from CD on Dell X300

Having slight trouble trying to boot from the CD/DVD drive on an X300.

We have the media base with the drive, not using any usb drives and it comes up with the message:

"Device Name : MSCD001
No drives found, aborting installation

Device driver not found: 'MSCD001' "

It then comes up with the normal A:\> but whenever we try and change it to either D: or E: it states the same message.

For this we cannot install any windows ghosts so any help would be great as we are having to take out the HDD and install the ghost on a machine that will boot from CD
