Default Obama! in South Dakota?!

Hey, if you don't know I'm from South Dakota, and, though we're good with raising politicians, we're not so fond of the fame portion.

Presidential hopeful came and spoke in Watertown (fourth largest city @ 25,000 ish people) to about 2,000 voters (and me!) and he surprised me.
I've heard he's a good orator, it's his thing for sure. He laid down his views, casually though, as in no added content, except when the Watertown Emergency Test Siren came on through one of a few city PA's, which happened to be about half a block from the building of the speech, and then he said "I think Bush planned this..." it was coy and kind of cheesy, but still , funny.

I myself and a solid supporter of Obama, but, and I know this is a heated issue, but, and no comments necessary, I just want a poll, without partisanship or any confrontation, who you plan to vote for or would like to see in office in 2008.

I'd really like to see Hilary win, though I won't be too shamed if Barack takes the prize. I just hope Hilary steps in as VP, although it seems unlikely.

I'm voting for Obama, although I generally dislike both parties.

McCain has my vote.

Why would you want to vote for someone that comes to Sioux Falls then calls us Sioux City? Thats like a slap in the face. I was thinking about going to see him in Sioux Falls just for the hotties but didnt.

so do americans actually care about this stuff? I see it on the news and everyone seems so enthusiastic about it all... Quite a contrast to the uk - I don't even vote anymore, whoever gets in will be spineless and out of touch, why bother

Naaaa......i don't care no more.
When he brought in the naacp the party was over.
White man owes you this and the white man owes you that.
Im not responsible for my fathers and forefathers.
my kids are not responsible. i don't owe nothin. they don't either.

then again, i liked his consensus but the truth is
his roots are else where. if a major decision had to
be made it might not be in the best interest of the states.
His family is from elsewhere. (bottom line). thats where there at.

As far a Dupa Hilary shes scary. She don't have a clue.
sorry if feelings are hurt. im past that. its called politics.

Uhm, if you've never heard a speech of his, he's addressed both sides of affirmative action and modern racism. A More Perfect Union
Hope you watch that. He doesn't use the NAACP as a political tool as much as he accepts the plights of a group that's fought for rights in a large stretch of this nation's history. It's progress, not pandering.
He lived out of the US until he was ten, and only moved there when he was about 3 or 4. His heart is in America, with his family and friends, odds are a majority of the few years outside the US isn't in the forefront of his mind, it might be all the years in Honolulu and Chicago? He didn't know his dad (the elsewhere portion of your post?) and was raised by his mom and her parents in the US...

Well McCain pretty much sealed my vote, when he said he wants to stay in the middle east until we win the war. I don't want that so I am going to vote against him. The war and our economy are the biggest issues in our nation right now and they both directly are connected to each other. War is suppose to boost economy but since the military out sources so much these days all of our "borrowed" money from that federal reserve is going right out of our country.

Plus we won't ever win that war until we change the people, and they aren't going to be changed easily. They have been at war for thousands of years over there.

It is time to pull out and fix the problems in our damn country, and McCain isn't going to do that, he wants to stay in the Middle East, and that will probably lead to an invasion in Iran, which I also do not want.

All of you youngsters that can vote and don't want to get drafted I'd vote against it as well. Even though they say there will never be a draft, with this whole post 9/11, fear mongering war on terror, I could see them trying to have one again. After all, if we are in it for the win we will probably be there another decade at least if not more. Then we will need to build a base there and have a presence there for 50 years after considering we still have bases in Germany, Japan, and Korea, and Vietnam and all those wars happened decades ago.
