Default CMOS Checksum error - Defaults loaded

What does the error means? Why does it appears momentarily after powering up the computer? The BIOS does stay at where it is configured but as soon as the main poweer is off, the BIOS simply reset and the CMOS Checksum error - Defaults loaded appears. Sometimes it simply went into questioning about the play and play OS.
Some questions. Should the plug and play OS be enabled or disabled? It appears to be enabled by default.
Is reseting CMOS simply remove the coin battery for 30 seconds?

The battery that is used by the motherboard, being named as CMOS battery could be limiting on power. A simple replace should remove the error message without further or much configurations. But do save and make a checkpoint of those settings configured by the manufacturer, unless if it is configured by end user, I supposed you know the values there.

i agree it may be the battery. You should have noticed i think if its not keeping the time. Yes, taking the battery out will reset to defaults. then again the option is there in the bios to reset to default values.
