My son, who has mental health problems, has been arrested for viewing child pornography.
He says he has not retained any images, nor has he paid to access any sites but has a compulsion to view things which cause him distress. His situation was in fact referred to the authorities by his therapist who are taking into account the fact that he is actively seeking help for his problem. He tells me that after he has viewed these images, he runs several programs to remove any evidence of what he has done. These programs are as follows:- Ccleaner Free Internet Window Washer Eraser The eraser program is set to US DoD 5220.22-M (8-306. / E, C and E) which consists of 7 passes. Can anybody tell me whether or not the images are likely to be recovered in view of the above? This would certainly put my mind at rest as whilst I do not condone my son's actions, being convicted of this offence may well result in his already poor state of mind deteriorating further. I am frankly appalled that his confidence has been betrayed by his therapist, but ultimately that is not a matter for discussion here. Many thanks. |

If i wanted to delete all traces and if they were not hidden.
this would be if he saved any pictures. right click start explorer highlight local drive c: hit the search button depending on the format the search criteria enter *.jpg this will find all jpg files. of course there might have been other formats. Last edited by tremmor; 05-17-2008 at 04:05 PM. |
