Default cpu init error

hi all for past 2 days been getting cpu init error on bootup sometimes it would start other times would have to reset comos lastnight it did the same i reset it and removed the batt and unplugged it put it back in this morn still will not post everything turns on but no screen to get into bios i tryed removeing ram and useing just 1 stick in all slots swapping diff sticks no good any other ideas you can give me to try. its been running sweet fo a year and a half why would it start this after so long btw cpu is a intel 6400 core 2 duo 2.13 but it been running at 2.5 no probs the rams voltage was set for 2.1

i removed my 8800gtx and put my 7600s back in in sli and cleared cmos it started right up what could be the prob ? i have the latest 8800 drivers should i put it back in and try again ? thanks
