Question Can I Overclock my CPU with my Gigabyte: GA-945GM-S2 rev:1.0 motherboard?

Hi

I have a Gigabyte: GA-945GM-S2 rev:1.0 motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 CPU currently running at 2.13GHz. I am a complete noob at overclocking and have been trying all day to overclock my cpu to no avail

I went into bios but could not find the FSB setting (or anything similar) to overclock.

I also tried using Easy Tune 5; a program which came with my motherboard. When i ran the program however, the Overclocking tab was blanked out and when i clicked it i recieved a message box telling me that either i had somthing called Dynamic Power Saver on (which i do not believe i have after further exploration) or my motherboard didn't support overclocking.

So does my motherboard really not support overclocking? (cuz if not its time to upgrade... any suggestions for a good motherboard )

thanks laz

Turn that Dynamic Power Saving off if possible. Also turn off the stuff that regulates everything automatic (or set it to manual).

I fairly sure i dont have that dynamic power saving thing cuz when i installed a utility by gigabyte to enable/disable it, it said i didnt have it.

Is there anything specific i should switch to manual? i hate messing around with the bios and dont want to break nething

I don't know all the correct names and it also differs between Bios versions. Just turn of Electrical management settings (or set them to manual); all of them.

If it won't work after that then set it back
