not really with the satellite either. its an alternative for people in more rural areas that dsl and cable isp dont reach. its actually a little slower than dsl if i remember right

They pretty much split up the cable comming out of your house so you can connect to ever server?

This is how i see it:

ISP supplies you with internet

Your modem is connected to your phone and then the phone line is connected to your phone company and then your ISP sends the internet connection to your phone number .

i dont see how you get that really...splitting up the cable? nothing in your house connects to a server. anything that you want online, connects centrally to your modem which that alone is connected to an outside source either by cable or phone.
