Default does windows have a record log?

I was just wondering if windows xp has a log of activity. here's what happened: I transferred some files onto my flash drive, now I can't find the flash drive, anyway, the files have been on there for a while so I don't remember if I deleted them off the drive. Is there a log or another way that I can look up to see if I deleted the files off?

file movements are one of the things that arent recorded in the eventlog as there are so many of them daily. but if you click start and click on run and type in eventvwr you will see the event log for your computer.

Have you check the Recycle Bin. All the deleted files should be there.
