Torrent applications are NOT illegal. It's the copyrighted material that gets sent through these applications.

There's nothing wrong with downloading a torrent as long as it doesn't contain copyrighted material.

But, lol , it brings you viruses.
When downloading such stuff from unknown sources ( like you do ) you often get viruses.

a firewall is like a gate. it keeps the bad people out and the dog in but it's not fool proof. but lets say you download and run an infected program. that will be like letting in a "friend." if it's infected you run that program you can get malware. that's like a friend raping your family and stealing your money.

As long as you have common sense and you scan the files after downloading then you're fine.

Yup, distribution of the CD's themselves is fine, any circumventing of activaton or inclusion of serials etc... thats where it gets illegal... when you buy windows, all your paying for is the license behind the key, not the software itself... Sure MS might not want you to distribute the CD's, because it "PROMOTES" file sharing (doesnt actually constitute AS file sharing) but it still doesnt violate ANY laws.

Just to save 25 other people from posting it... torrent applications such as Azureus and utorrent are not illegal in themsleves, its only the transfer of copyrighted works for which you do not hold the copyright for, that is breaking the law.

Now get back to your lives people
