Question Weird PC problem. Genius I need you!

Hi guys! Ive been using a computer (pentium 3 windows xp) for

almost 6 yrs. One morning I tried to turn it on then suddenly

an error message said a windows file is corrupt/missing, press

r to repair. I tried to re-install windows again by booting

into the windows cd but another problem occured. An error

message said that "unable to load setup.sys code error is 4"

something like that. I thought my cd and cdrom is bad already.

I placed the cd and cdrom on another computer(AMD) and guess

what? It succesfully booted and entered windows setup. I also

installed my hard disk there(together with the IDE cable) and

booted it and I was surprised that I entered windows xp

normally(without any error message).

Now. Im sure that there is no problem with the hard disk, cd or

cdrom. Guys, can you give some ideas where the problem is?

(motherboard? processor? virus? memory?) how can I fix it? tnx.
