Default New Graphics Card - No Monitor Sound

Alright, well I went out and decided to upgrade my computer.
I have an HP Pavillion. My processor is an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30GHz. I have 2GB RAM, and I bought a new Power Supply and Graphics Card (500W Power Supply, and ATI Radeom HD 3870). My graphics work fine, but now the sound coming out of my monitor doesn't work. I have no other speakers, so now that I've upgraded my computer for gaming, I have no sound. This is a huge disappointment >:(

Anyone got any tips or ideas on how I could fix this.. ? Thanks.

-Aldoria

Edit: My monitor is a HP w1907.

Hey there! Sorry to hear about your problem! Is your sound integrated into your motherboard, or do you have a separate sound card? Perhaps you dislodged something when you were installing the new card??

Yes, it's plugged into the green thingy. And yes, it goes into my monitor.

Go to device manager and see how it's doing.

Go into your BIOS, and check to see whether onboard sound has been disabled or not.

When you are booting, you see the blue HP screen, and it says 'press F1' to enter setup, and you press F1. It could also be DEL, F10 or F2.
