hey CF.
I have another problem with this old un-used computer... ![]() My problem is that whenever i try to burn something using my DVD burner it comes up with an error... "Nero - LightScribe" "LightScribe error: A communication error has occured with the LightScribe drive. Please restart you PC and try the label again." That's exactly what the error says but i don't understand why i'm getting this error... i wasn't trying to use "LightScribe" i was just trying to burn a regular Audio CD. Oh and most importantly which i almost forgot it happens like this. I try to open "Nero Express" from the start menu and as soon as it opens this error pops up and won't let me do anything. I've pressed "OK" but all it does is open another "Nero Express" and then it closes automatically. I've tried going through "Nero StartSmart" but the same thing happens. Also i have tried reinstalling but it still comes up with the same error, i did try another version of nero laying around it's the OEM version it didn't give me an error like the retail version. Help... ![]() Thanks CF.

Good ol' Nero...
If you haven't already, uninstall, then reinstall the program. That should work until you encounter problems again.

No it is not. The software with the optical drive was OEM so i got the full version. bloatware ? I'm assuming that you mean it's full of unnecessary programs.

Yup!! By bloatware he means it is an over-packed program that uses too many resources and takes too much hdd space. Also, it runs like crap and has problems all the time! Heck freeware runs better and has better features! lol

^^^ Yup A decent one you could use is Roxio but, thats kinda bloatware too but, seems to have less issues than nero. I use convertxtodvd to burn dvd's. That is a great little program and you can convert and burn a whole movie in about 30-45min. Way faster than nero could ever do it.

Yeah roxio came with my pc and I decided to keep it. It seems to be one of the few useful oem programs! lol Every other oem program is crap. I believe companies are getting better at cleaning up the pc's though. I remember back in the day when you would get a binder full of free software and the stuff was already installed on your pc. lol
