Default HD Space Continually Disappears!!

Here's an unusual problem: On my "old" computer it has a 160gb drive that continually gets filled up. This machine is in our kitchen, so it's monitored as far as any "questionable" material being looked at and/or downloaded. In the past few weeks I've deleted probably 15-18gb of unused or little used programs, folders, pictures, etc, trying to regain some HD space. I work in Los Angeles and when I come home for a weekend, the drive is darn near full again! For instance, last weekend I had the free space back up to 13ishGB. I just looked at the c: properties and it's down to 2gb. The typical useage is my wife and Quicken spreadsheets, my teen son and his Command and Conquer game and my teen daughter who's newest endeavor is Yahoo mail.

There must be a method to search the computer to find a very large file folder. Can this be done? When my son uses Command and Conquer, does it save a game and take up space? I have to think that there's one culprit and it's hiding somehwere.

Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Jon in American Fork.

Under search there's an option where you can set the size of the file. Also, check if your system restore is on. It takes up a lot of hard drive space by creating checkpoints.

EXCELLENT!!

I found a 58gb (!?!?!?!?) movie on there in about two secs. So after a very preliminary dump, there's an easy 70gb of space back there.

We immediatley pointed a finger at my daughter who likes to download American Idol type junk.

Thanks for the quick and easy fix.

Also depending on what C&C game your son has that could use a fair amount of memory. If it's Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars then it's 6GB, with Kane's Wrath I think it adds another 5.
