Default Older Sony Viao USB port broke!

One of the USB ports on my older Sony Viao laptop broke when my dog tripped over the mouse cord. It ripped out the port, so it doesn't work.

Can the USB port be fixed?

if u are good with soldering, and the warranty is up u could prolly clean the the solder pads on the board, and clean the solder points on the usb up and resolder it in there
