Default 8800GT 512mb SLI with 8800GT 1gb

Is it possible to SLI my current MSI 8800GT 512mb with a 1gb 8800GT? If possible I was thinking of getting this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130352

I have the MSI currently OC'd to 2000 Mhz memory, and 690Mhz core. I would just boost up the core a little bit to match the new one.

Just get the 512mb version, from what i have seen the 1Gb version performs a tad slower anyway. As well as the 512 will be alot cheaper.

Plus the 1gb model would only use 512mb of It's VRAM per your configuration. Would be a waste.

yes it wouldnt be worth it, games currently dont require that much vram, so you will be better off getting another 512mb card.

even if you planned to use the 1gb card singly, it wouldnt be worth it. by the time games actually require that much vram, the chip itself wont be fast enough to run the game

Games can us that much RAM on a card, only you'd have to set the settings and resolutions quite high, and an 8800GT won't do all that good on high settings and 2500*1920.

To adress 1024mb of videocard ram, you'd have to have the following:
- Enough SP's to actually process it
- A big enough bus (512bit, or bigger)
- Good frequencies
- Put the settings of the game high enough...
