Default Presario 2100 LCD screen cable connection

Hello,

I was trying to disconnect the LCD screen cable from the motherboard on my Presario 2100 notebook and broke two prongs that are attached to the motherboard. It looks like there are two rows of 15 prongs. The two I broke are on left most end (looking at the screen) and in the row closest to the touch pad. After I broke the prongs, I reconnected the LCD screen (which is cracked) and it powered up fine. Also, the pointer moved around and was visible on the parts of the screen that were not cracked.

Do you know off-hand if those two prongs are vital for the LCD screen's full functionality? I have a used screen on the way, but thought I'd throw it out there for you. Also, what's the technical name for the cable that connects from a monitor to the back of the laptop? Thanks for your non-sarcastic reply, or just move on.
