Default DVD Burner

I was hoping someone could advise me on what may be my possible problem. I was using DVD Shrink this weekend when something quit working. It would burn to about 3% and then freeze. I would try to cancel it and then would have to manually open my DVD burner to get the disc out. I've used Shrink for a long time and have never really had this problem. I later got the dreaded blue screen!
The only thing different lately is that a friend put some photo software on my computer. He scanned it to make sure there were no viruses or anything, but could this be the problem? I uninstalled Shrink and then reinstalled and it is still holding up.
Any advice?
Thanks!!

Shrink will not be the issue cause its not a burning program. What are you using to burn DVD's with? What type of media are you using and how long ago did you get it? Have you updated firmware?

Why dont you just use a simple program such as Dvdfab to copy dvd's? No shrinking needed.
