i have a Lite on DVD writer but when it powers up its quite loud....is this normal for Lite-on drives?

i also have a Sony DVD drive installed but thats virtualy silent when its reading disks etc.

I quit using LiteOn. Drive door belts breaking, loud spin ups and downs, stop reading -+ R and RW, when you boot up windows it sounds like its going to take off. Got fed up with them. Got a stack of about 4 LiteOn that took a crap. I mostly just use LG drives now.

I stopped using Liteon for the same things.

yeah... my Lite-On does that too
as StrangleHold had said, it sounds really loud during boot-up
But other than that its fine... so far...
