Exclamation Power Unit help! Please :)

Hi,
Ok so recently I bought a HP computer (specs in sig) and I did all the math for wattage and at the moment I am using about 320 watts of power. My Power supply unit is 350 >:0 or 300 watts I'm not sure it says combined power is 300 but max is 350. whats up with that? please explain ok so my 8500 gt has been working fine with this power supply but I want to upgrade to an 8800 gt and maybe add some fans/led's with a new case, will my power supply be able to still work with its low wattagee?

-Jay

If you upgrade in that way, you will want a good 500W or better power supply. Expect to pay around $50 for a solid one at the lower end.

^ Yep, what he said.

The best ones around $50 are Rosewills. If you want a really good one, you'll have to step up to the $80+ and get a Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair, OCZ or Thermaltake.

I've seen a Cooler Master 500w for $50, and I've also seen a 500w Apevia for $40 that I heard was decent. It's called the Java or something.

Don't bet on it. Check the reviews, you will see that you must have it sent in 12 days after the purchase. wait 3-5 days for the psu, and u got 8 days. uh-uh says I. However the one i wanna get is a 585W HEC. its got like 5 eggs.

Thanks for the responses guys. Here is another question. I have a 20inch screen and my 8500 has 512 mb of ram if. Should I get the 8800 with 256mb or 512mb? Also I kinda feel stupid for getting rid of my 8500 which is worth 50$+ so if I were to sell it on ebay how would I package it and stuff. Hopefully I can get the PSU, maybe a cool case, 8800gt, led's and fan and that would be awesome. I should be able to do all this customizing even though its an HP computer right?
