Default Longest Battery Run time

I am think of a new PC laptop for my next semester so I am in no hurry.

Does anyone know of any laptop that has long battery run time when word processing? It would be best if it can last over 3 to 4 hours.

Thanks

I second that.

Most subnotebooks will last that long.

Or any laptop with at least a 6 cells battery.

Macs

It depends.. when they are new they tend to not last long (in time)

This is how you make it longer.
Charge full... completely flatten... do this 3 to 5 times and then it should last a long time... with a dell i got it to last for 4 hours.

No way dude, with a 6 cell on a standard laptop you'd be lucky to get 2 hours.

Any laptop with a 9 cell battery, on the other hand. My dell with the 9 cell lasts about 4-5 hours of word processing.

On my Dell Inspiron E1520 that I used to have (15.4", C2D, 8600M GT) with a 9-cell battery I got an average of 4.5-5 hours under normal use, such as word processing, internet browsing, etc. However with the brightness all the way down, and doing some very basic tasks I got upwards of 6-7 hours.

WOW!!!!

Also the lower contrast you have on the screen... the longer it will last as well.

Lets look back to the first post, I think he had "PC" in BIG RED BOLD letters, I don't think he wanted a mac...
