We got a server here with an array that's about to fail. I need to determine what type of hard drives are in there without shutting it off and physically looking at it.
How can I find out the model/specs of the hard drives in the server? It's a windows server.

Look in device manager under hard disks. It probably will not tell you "Seagate Cheetah 10K.7" or whatever but it will tell you something. Either post what it says here and I (or someone else) will tell you or google it and you should be able to find out.

In this situation I look up the model number for the server (usually a tag on the back) and then find the server specs online. The server specs will tell what hard drives were bundled with this server. This worked for me in the past when replacing server hard drives.
